We get lots of emails here at Sustainable Kentucky, but one of the most common is, “Where’s the map?” We’ve long thought about putting one together, but after being inspired by Rona Robert’s informative local foods map at Savoring Kentucky, we decided to go ahead and take a stab at it. Instead of listing all the good businesses and farms that we know, we decided to be a little more specific. Our map only covers those that we’ve written about on this site. If you click the icon, it will give you a link to the original post on that topic. I think it’s a handy way to visualize where we’ve been.
More importantly, it shows us better where we need to go! There is still so much of the state that needs to be covered, and we’ll get there, one step at time. To see the results of this little project for yourself, visit our dedicated map page.
Oh, and a quick note to my farming friends: If you notice that your listing is incorrect or if your original post is missing pictures, please let me know. We’ve gone through some changes that resulted in picture problems and I’ve tried to correct everything, but it is easy to overlook in older posts. Also, if you’ve been featured on the site but I somehow missed you on the map, drop me a line, too!
I hope you enjoy the map and let me know if you have any questions. Oh, and don’t forget—come meet many of the farms and businesses that have been featured here on March 30th at the Kentucky Green Living Fair. See you there!
